Story Behind the Photos – Sabattus Pond
I enjoy experimenting with long exposure photography. This image was taken while I was having a discussion with another photographer as we watched the sun set on this quiet Maine lake. The photographer had not done any long exposures before. I was explaining how to create minute long exposures and that the scene in front of us would make a great shot. I set up my camera, using a rock on the shoreline as my tripod, and took a single three-minute shot. This image is the result.
Equipment used: Pentax K1 DSLR, Pentax HD D FA* 70-200mm lens, and a 10-stop neutral density filter
