A Moment in Congaree
In 2017, while living and working in Clinton for a few weeks, I had the invaluable opportunity to explore the diverse and beautiful scenery of central and upcountry South Carolina, including the incredible Congaree National Park. Standing among these towering Loblolly Pines, looking up to their immense heights, truly highlighted the grandeur of nature. I chose to render this image in black and white to emphasize the textures of the bark, the incredible reach of the trees, and the dramatic interplay of light and shadow as the sun pierced the canopy. This piece captures the powerful, timeless essence of this unique old-growth forest, a scene that continues to inspire awe.
