A neighbor to the west of Big Bend National Park, is 311,000-acre, Big Bend Ranch State Park. Scenic drive FM-170, runs along the Rio Grande with incredible views along the Mexico border. The Big Bend region can be extremely hot during the summer months. It’s not uncommon for temps to reach over 100 degrees. We selected a day to visit with scattered storms that kept the temps down in the mid-80s.
