All day rain finally cleared up as the afternoon became evening. This capture is a typical scene from the Maine woods. Dark blue waters and bright blue sky surrounded by pine trees. My goal was to photograph Moose. I saw one Moose, about 1/4 mile away from me, quickly scamper off into the thick Maine woods. However, Moose tracks were everywhere! As a Maine native, I’ve seen moose, but not very often. If you find yourself on a road trip in Maine and are not up for hikes among swarms of black flies, I suggest heading out on Route 201 out of Skowhegan towards Jackman; and Route 27 out of Farmington to Eustis, turn on Route 16 and head to Rangeley. These routes are the only routes I’ve seen moose while traveling in Maine.
