PEMAQUID LIGHTHOUSE BLOSSOMS ____________________________New Harbor, Maine ©2021One of my personal favorite spots in Maine. I enjoyed running and climbing all over these rocks as a boy. I now enjoy walking slowly around these rocks as a grown up. How are we able to keep our balance so well as children? During this trip to Pemaquid, I first went to set up at the ‘popular’ shooting spot, but I encountered several photographers setting up shop. I decided to carefully, climb up and down and over the rocks looking for a different composition. After climbing all around the granite shore, I found myself at a wonderful spot I could have reached much easier near where I parked. I set up my camera and tripod. Framed up the scene and waited. I sat in this spot for the sunset, golden hour and blue hour. This shot was toward the end of sunset, when the colors started to pop. I had to bracket the shot get two exposures, one for the lighthouse and one for the beautiful blooms in the foreground.Matted and metal prints of this image are available in a variety of sizes.
