I had been planning to photograph the sunrise at this Miami beach park for quite sometime. I finally made it happen. I arrived at Matheson Hammock to find a dull overcast morning. I felt that I would not capture my planned sunrise photo on this day. So I intended to try to capture some of the scenes and return another day to catch my dramatic sunrise. As some other photographers were packing up, I saw the sun start to break through the clouds creating a fantastic morning glow. I set up my tripod and captured some shots. All of a sudden a flock of gulls came skimming across the water in front of me. Luckily I was already set up for the shot and was able to capture the scene in this image.
