For me, the alligator isn’t just a subject; it’s a symbol of Florida’s wild heart, and I wanted to portray it with the quiet dignity I saw in that moment. The still, mirrored waters doubled its presence, creating a sense of profound serenity. I wanted a sparse composition, emphasizing the elegant lines of the alligator against the simple, linear backdrop of the marsh grasses.
