The story behind this image is special. Clyde & Niki Butcher were hard at work finding shooting locations for Clydes 2019 calendar celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Moon Landing. As they planned to shoot some moon shots in The Big Cypress National Preserve, they invited me to join them. When I arrived we discussed angles of the moonrise and lenses for the occasion. Within a few minutes, we separated to find our own shooting location. As I watched the full moon rising, I was eager not to miss a shot. I moved around with my camera attempting to capture as many scenes as I could before the moon rose too high. I glanced over at Mr. Butcher, he sat patiently waiting for that one shot he had already envisioned. It was a perfect display of a longtime photography pro and me. 🙂
This image was one of my favorites that I captured that evening. Check out Mr. Butcher’s image from that evening; it’s the cover of his 2019 calendar (click here) Thank you Clyde & Niki for inviting me to shoot with you. It was an honor.
